Chateau Pesquie is located in Ventoux--a cooler clime region where the great Ventoux Mountain looms--and is owned and operated by the third generation of the Chaudiere family. In Ventoux, Syrah reigns and ergo this wine blends 40% Syrah with the queen of the Southern Rhone, Grenache.
Sweet fresh cherry aromas are layered with licorice, light mocha, blueberry and violets, vanilla and a hint of orange peel. The palate is supple and fresh, loads of expressive purple fruit coats the tongue; it is polished, has a lovely woven character and finesse.
Superb value for the price.
